Tomorrow I have the opportunity to play in Portland, OR at Someone Clothing. Now, this is a venue change...you see, originally the idea was to play at The Calabash aka Calabash Club aka Club Calabash aka The Calabash Club aka what-have-you. I don't know how these types of things manifest, maybe venue condemnations/close-downs/shut-downs/blow-ups happen a lot in this line of work. I'm a self-proclaimed rook, but it seems "shit happens" is sort of the order of the day...so I am not even going to dwell on it. Hopefully, it is temporary...I love music, especially live music, and I would hate for venues to go the way of the Unicorn.
I will say however, that as menial as it seems...the fact that I am going to be playing in a different city, let alone in a different state, makes me feel fucking cool. I am humbled by the chance to say words rhythmically in front of people, hopefully I can make some friends...then fans.
